I strongly believe that any label's responsibilities inlude the documentation of its local music scene, which is why I have learnt, performed and recorded music by many Austrian composers, including Balduin Sulzer, Fridolin Dallinger, Helmut Rogl, Gunter Waldek and Hannes Raffaseder. The latest addition to paladino's Austrian composers catalogue is this portrait album of Martin Lichtfuss, who was one of the longstanding composition professors at the mdw - Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. This album celebrates his 65th birthday in 2024, and I am happy that my personal contribution (Lichtfuss's Piano Trio) to it brought a musical reunion with Clemens Zeilinger, who I do not only share my birthday with, but who also was my very first pianist companion in the early 1980s.
